How do I burn a candle properly or why is my candle sooting?
A candle needs to be used correctly in order for it to burn properly. This means DO NOT burn a candle for more than 4 hours, if so it will become too hot and will start to throw “black smoke” and cause the wick to become too long. It will also cause the jar to become too hit and can cause it to crack. Remember candles need a break too.
BEFORE you light your candle please make sure you trim the wick to a 1/4 inch using either scissors or a wick trimmer and DO NOT leave the trimmed wick in with the candle.
